How to reach us
Call (718) 484-7510. Our office is in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. We bring claims against debt collectors, credit bureaus and robocallers, and defend collection lawsuits, in the federal and state courts of New York, New Jersey and Florida, where our attorneys are admitted, and we associate with local counsel elsewhere.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Same-day appointments are often available. The phone line is answered around the clock, because court papers and collection calls do not arrive during business hours, and the answer deadline in a lawsuit does not pause for the weekend.
Florida matters
Florida cases are handled through our Aventura office: 18851 NE 29th Avenue, Suite 200, Aventura, FL 33180, (754) 258-3270.
Languages
We speak English, Russian and Spanish in-house. We arrange live interpretation for other languages. Mikhail Usher personally speaks English, Russian and Spanish.
Getting here
The office is in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, near the B and Q trains at Sheepshead Bay station and the B4, B36 and B49 buses. Tell us when you make the appointment if you need help with directions or with accessibility.
For other lawyers
If a client of yours is being called or sued by a debt collector, or has a credit report problem that is outside your practice, call and say so. We will tell you whether we can take it, and we will coordinate with you on any matter you are already handling for that client.
Before you send anything by email
Do not email account numbers, your Social Security number, full credit reports or court papers until we have confirmed we can review your matter. Sending us information does not make you a client and does not make what you send privileged. An attorney-client relationship begins only when we and you sign a written retainer agreement.
What to have ready when you call
- The collector's or company's name, and the numbers it called from.
- The letters, with their envelopes if you kept them.
- The voicemails, and screenshots of your call history. The call log puts the calls in order.
- Your credit reports, and any dispute letters and the answers you got back.
- Any court papers, and the date you were served.
- The results the violation checker copied for you, if you ran it.
If you do not have some of this, call anyway. We can work most of it out on the phone.
You have been sued
If a collector or its law firm has sued you, call rather than writing. Have the court papers in front of you and know the date you were served. Do not ignore the papers: the answer deadline is short, and it runs whether or not you have a lawyer yet.
